Chris Barfield
Mr. Barfield is still unsure what he wants to be when he grows up! Passionate about many things, he is a lifelong learner and a professional student. Mr. Barfield currently works remotely as a patient safety advisor for ECRI, a patient safety organization and evidence-based practice center. At ECRI he frequently teaches patient safety topics to adult professionals. Additionally, he practices clinically as a registered nurse (RN) on the weekends. Last year, Mr. Barfield taught Algebra I to 9th graders at Bible Believers Christian School (BBCS) in Lima, Ohio, receiving the 2025 Don Quixote award.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Health and a Master of Health Information Technology (MHIT), both from the University of South Carolina, Mr Barfield began his career working in performance improvement (PI) and project management in SC state government. He then relocated to Ohio where he attended nursing school at Owens Community College while working in PI and patient safety at a large, integrated health system.
Mr. Barfield lives in Lima, Ohio, with his wife and three children. He attends True Word Tabernacle in Bluffton, Ohio, and loves entertaining and serving the bride of Christ however he can (I Peter 4:8-10). His greatest desire is to simply be a “help” (I Corinthians 12:28).
Mr Barfield is excited about the opportunity to continue educating in BAO’s virtual classroom. He loves to see when students experience “lightbulb moments” and make connections between the material and life experiences.
