Math

Mr.  Goertzen is a thoughtful, understanding, and passionate teacher who comes from a long line of teachers in the family.  He has worked with students in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada as a volunteer, tutor, educational assistant, and substitute teacher.  Currently, he works as a full-time teacher at our sister school, BCA.  He enjoys getting to know the kids in his own classroom and having the honor of working with believing families.

Math has been a hobby for Mr. Goertzen for many years.  He received awards for the Cayley and Fermat math contests, achieving the highest score in his secondary school.  However, Mr.  Goertzen began his college education by earning his Bachelor’s of Music at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Langley, BC).  He then completed his Bachelor’s of Secondary Education with a major in music and a minor in math  at the University of Alberta in 2020.

Mr. Goertzen is a true Canadian, born in the prairies of Manitoba, living for a time in Alberta, Canada, where he still has family, and is currently living in British Columbia.  There he attends Cloverdale Bibleway and loves the people’s warmth and welcome.  Mr. Goertzen enjoys teaching at BCA with his brother, also Mr. Goertzen, and being surrounded by a Godly atmosphere all day.  He takes pleasure in helping people in the church and the community by lending a helping hand and doing various odd jobs wherever they are needed.  Mr. Goertzen also has a gift for song writing that he enjoys using to bless God’s people.

Mr.  Goertzen looks forward to helping students at BAO hone their math skills and find success in their work this coming school year.  He is excited to be a part of another great team of teachers and to be able to connect with young believers from far away locations.
