Miss Leonard is a dedicated and passionate teacher with over 20 years’ experience in the classroom. She initially spent seven years in the public sector before relocating to British Columbia, Canada, for 12 years. There, at Bibleway Christian Academy, Miss Leonard taught 4-6 homeroom, K-6 Music, 2-6 Art, and grades 10/11 Math as well as assisting with the administration of the school. She worked as part of the team to test and develop Bibleway Academy Online.

After graduating in 2000 from West Virginia University with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (Multi-subjects, K-8), Miss Leonard returned to earn her Math Specialization. Committed to optimizing student learning by continually seeking ways to improve instruction and learning, Miss Leonard frequently participates in Professional Development opportunities like “Rise-Up” Christian Educators Virtual Summit (2019) and the GOA’s AI Essentials for Educators (2024).

Miss Leonard lives in rural West Virginia with her dog, Maggie, and cat, Hazel. She loves picnics, traveling, the beach, and enjoys many hobbies. When she is not working on school, she loves to quilt, write letters, crochet, play board games, and, most of all, read! Miss Leonard loves to learn and enjoys everything from historical fiction to biographies to fantasy, but if left alone in a book store, you will always find her in the young adult section.

This year, Miss Leonard will be teaching and doing administration of Bibleway Academy Online. Miss Leonard is glad that the Lord has led her to this position and grateful for the opportunity to help grow the next generation of godly, Christian Believers.
