Social Studies/Electives

Mrs. Willis is an experienced and energetic teacher. She loves working with teenagers and watching them grow and mature into young adults.  Mrs. Willis attended East Tennessee State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History Education. There, she was among the first group of graduating seniors to complete the new requirements under NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education). This rigorous training included a year-long student teaching placement, in addition to completing a written and video teaching portfolio, known as the edTPA.

Two months after her college graduation, Mrs. Willis married her best friend, Daniel. Very shortly afterwards, she was hired for her first job in education, teaching at her alma mater. She has taught US History, US Government, US Economics, World History, and Credit Recovery classes for failing students. She also led several student clubs and was a member of her school’s Data and Implementation Leadership Team. After the birth of her son in the fall of 2018, Mrs. Willis decided it was time to resign from the public school system to spend more time with her family.

Mrs. Willis resides in northeast Tennessee with her husband, son Alistair, and daughter Amariah. She has been a member of her local church for over twenty years and finds it a privilege to serve with the other brothers and sisters in the church. She loves to spend time with her family, read, and share stories about her everyday life.

Mrs. Willis will be teaching a variety of social studies and elective courses, such as, Socials 8, World History, Economics, and PE/Health.  She is a very enthusiastic addition to the Bibleway Academy Online team and is looking forward to using her teaching gift and serving God’s children all while working from home and being there for her family.
